NOTICE OF A MEETING OF HAGWORTHINGHAM PARISH COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN and Councillors are summoned to attend the meeting of Hagworthingham Parish Council that will be held on Monday 27 November 2023 at JJ’s Café, Main Road, Hagworthingham at 7.00 p.m. at which the under mentioned business will be transacted.

There will be a maximum 15 minute forum prior to the commencement of the meeting when members of the public may ask questions or make short representations to the Council.  At the discretion of the Chairman there may be an additional 5 minutes at the end of the meeting at which members of the public can raise points relating to the meeting or items for consideration for inclusion on the next agenda.

Following which the Council will receive reports of the Police, County and District Councillors.

5.  Co-Option to Vacant Seat and Resignation of Councillor

To note the resignation of Cllr Catherine Horton, with the Notice of Vacancy currently being displayed in accordance with Election rules and to receive details of any person wishing to be considered for Co-Option to the current remaining vacant seat.

6.  Provision of a second defibrillator for the village

To receive a report of Cllr Paul Masters and any proposal for the direction in which to proceed, or otherwise, with regard to the provision of a second defibrillator for the village.

7.  Exploration of provision of play area for the village 

At the meeting held on 16 October 2023, it was resolved that a task and finish group comprising Cllrs Masters and Horton be formed to progress initial exploration of provision of a play area for the village, to include possible locations, possible acquisition of land and costings and funding via grants and/or loans.

In light of the resignation of Cllr Horton, Members are asked to consider and decide how to proceed.

8.  Neighbourhood Watch

The meeting will receive an update on the proposal for a local Neighbourhood Watch scheme.

9.  Financial Matters
 
(a)  Monies at Bank

(b)  To approve payment of outstanding invoices (as per Appendix A)

(c)  To receive interim accounts and bank reconciliation

(d)  To note NALC pay award for 2023/24; flat £1.00 per hour increase across all Spinal Column Points (award backdated to 1 April 2023)

(e)  To receive and decide upon budget/precept proposal for 2024/25

(f)   Update on progress with additional cheque signatories

10.   To receive reports from Councillors relating to outstanding projects 

To receive reports from Members relating to outstanding projects and requests for matters to be placed on the next agenda.  No resolutions may be passed under this item.
 
11.  To receive reports from the Clerk in relation to Council matters

12.  To receive general correspondence
                
13.  To confirm the date of the next meeting of the Council

The date of the next meeting of the Parish Council is proposed as Monday 15 January 2024 to commence at 7.00 p.m. in JJ’s Café (subject to there being sufficient business to transact).
