Addendum to Risk Assessment

Generic Site Survey, Risk Assessment & COSHH Assessment for Hagworthingham Parish Council SID Device

The SID under question in this survey is a moveable unit which will be moved by a member of the Parish Council approximately every 6 weeks. It may be moved more frequently during the summer (busy road movements) period.

The 2 mounting posts are located at both main road entrances to the village on the A158. The mounting posts were positioned after consultation with the Highways Authorities.

Criteria to be Adhered to While Moving the Device.

1. High visibility jackets must be worn.

2. At least 2 people must carry out the operation.

3. Product manuals are available for reference.

4. For best practice the operation must take place whilst traffic flow is limited.

5. When the unit is being lifted from the mounting post, care must be taken while lifting heavy weights.

6. There must be a person who understands the working at height regulations present.

7. The Health & Safety at work Act 1974 must be adhered to and work buddies must watch each other’s backs.

8. While the rechargeable battery is being charged a circuit-breaker must be used between the mains electricity supply & the battery.

*NB. While working with the village Speed Indication Device, best practice in all operations must be adhered to always.
